The desert images capture naturally calm and tranquil moments of the landscape at dusk, in contrast the nude figures are contorted and distraught. The juxtaposition shows the vulnerability of humanity against the unwavering routine of nature, with its own moments of brutality and severity yet eerily beautiful and full of potential. In the treatment, the figures appear almost ghost like with soft details that are distinguishable but evaporating, reminding us that in the scope of time our presence is fleeting.

Veneration is the act of honoring a person who has been identified as having a high degree of sanctity. The woman figure is used to represents the everyday person. The choice of a female is because we are all created by a mother and that is an inescapable commonality shared between all life. The sculpture will be placed in the landscape so that it stands out from its surroundings, but still connects with nature because of the material selection. The stone pile below the cut corten steel panels represents sacred memorials that have been used by many cultures throughout history.
Two 3ft by 8ft cut corten panels with a stone pile of local aggregate.
Scaled model was created out of cardstock and small white stones.
LED light source placed between the two panel to allow the figure to glow at night.
The photographs capture the American flag in an abstracted way meant to resemble the mountainous landscape of North America. In our new era of politics, people on both sides of the political spectrum feel betrayed and left to the wayside, the figures represent the struggle, isolation, and disappointment felt as a result of America’s divisive politics. The flag is stripped of its typical colors and is replaced by colors that represents a bruise.
A full-sized replica of The Liberty Bell. Even though the crack is an existing part of the bell, S.Rhett is using it to represent the fight that many people in the United States are currently battling. On either side of the crack are male and female figures that are shown in positions of vulnerability. A light source in the core of the bell shines through the perforated figures on to the wall.
Here is a glimpse of a few concepts that are in the process of being created.
